About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.

Oh, these frozen tulips...

Yeah, I know - just a few days ago I shared those beautiful tulip photos (click here to refresh your memory - Oh these beautiful tulips...) and I was really hoping we’d enjoy a few weeks of warm weather. But… this is Colorado, and sure enough, just a week later, we got snow.

It barely touched the area where I live, but some parts of Denver - like where our friends are - got up to two feet! The Denver Botanic Gardens had just a couple of inches… but enough to blanket all the tulips under a layer of cold, white snow.

It was honestly a little heartbreaking to walk around and see all that vibrant beauty bent under the heavy, icy weight.

But you know what? This isn’t unusual for Colorado. So let’s hope the flowers push through this - just like they’ve done in past years.

And… to be honest… this sudden snowstorm turned out to be a little slice of paradise for photographers. They couldn’t stop capturing the contrast of those poor blooms wearing snow hats ;) I must admit… I was definitely one of them ;(

Anyway, since we can’t control the weather, let’s just appreciate these rare and striking images of delicate flowers wrapped in harsh snow. Aren’t they strangely beautiful?

Actually, I still think the tulips looked stunning - maybe even more so than before. And who knows? I like to believe that this spring snowstorm might make them stronger. (After all, the snow melted completely just a few hours later…)

Thanks ChatGPT for proofreading and making some suggestions for this post ;)

  1. Tulips bathed in snow— a beautiful if melancholy sight. What an eye to realize the possibilities— Michael, you are a John Fielder in disguise.
