January is never warm (and who expects warm weather in the winter, right?)... But this January feels especially hard. The cold bites deeper, and even more frigid air is forecasted for the coming weekend. It's sunny here in Colorado, but I am weary of this endless frost and the monotony of a landscape drained of color.
And I will be honest - I miss summer. Really miss it... I close my eyes and summon the memory of flowers. How they dance in the golden light, their petals soft as whispers, their colors vibrant and alive.
I miss the warm air and those waves of heat that make everything feel so much better. Yes, I know, when summer comes, I’ll probably start complaining about the heat. But right now, I’d welcome it with open arms and truly savor it.
Lately, I’ve been trying to conjure the feeling of summer, and the first thing that comes to mind is flowers. Many flowers - their colors and shapes, each one a tiny miracle, a burst of joy amidst the green.
These visions are my refuge, a balm for my winter-worn spirit and somehow, the warmth of summer fades into the vibrant images of these blooms that now fill my mind.
So, let’s imagine those flowers together. Picture them surrounding us, their brilliance lighting up the world. And you know what? Summer is coming. It’s just around the corner. Even as winter does its best to freeze us, the promise of summer is relentless. It will arrive, bringing its warmth and life once more.
Soon, we’ll shed these heavy, bulky layers, and walk freely in the sun, surrounded by stunning flowers lining our paths. Until then, let’s hold onto this vision of summer’s beauty and brightness, a gentle reminder that better days are always ahead.
