Yeap, we did it again... I mean, we spent a couple of hours in the
Denver Botanic Garden ;) And, honestly, there aren't many better ways to
spend a Sunday morning ;)
Somehow this time most of the flowers were either orange hues or blue-purple hues... I didn't realize it until I downloaded the pics and reviewed them. And the first one I stopped by was California Poppy. Beautiful and bright. Simple and intricate at the same time. And look very good with some random blue flowers on the same bed ;)
It's a nice haircut, isn't it?
It was a really good time for cacti too. And... most of the ones that caught my eye were orange or red (no idea why I didn't photograph the yellow or pink flowers).
Aren't they nice looking?
The peonies were in full bloom and the buds were hard to find. But it wasn't impossible either :)
I loved these orange poppies. Not as big and wild as their red cousins, more subtle and simple... but stunningly beautiful!
Vine goes through the fence. Nothing can stop plants from finding the smallest crack and sneaking to the other side :)
More California Poppies... Every time I noticed them, I took a shot or two.
It's the same with cacti ;) That's why there are so many of those in pictures today :)
Wild irises. Not as intricate as the bearded varieties but... still amazingly looking!
Another peony. I like the splash of white on the petal... Makes it even nicer!
Small and rough. This flower can survive high altitude and lack of warmth and water. But they like the sun!
I need to come back in a day or two and take a picture of this poppy in full bloom :)
White poppy. Don't remember if I've ever seen those in the wild...
and even in the gardens they are not a common resident. More reasons to
look into the flower and capture the central piece :)
We started with California Poppies... You know what? Let's end this post with the same flower. Bright and beautiful!
The pictures were taken on May 26, 2024.
