Just a week ago everything looked so promising. And some trees responded to the call of spring and started unwhirling the flowers, and it looked amazing. You remember these pictures, don't you? Click here if you want to refresh your memory - Bright and fresh... The next thing, as we all remember, was almost a foot of snow covering the ground and destroying those who were in a hurry to show up... Even though the snow melted quickly, the damage was done... Believe it or not, but this is the same tree on which the bee collected nectar a day before...
But most of the plants survived without major loss. The leaves are
tougher than fragile petals and look even stronger after a cold
shower...
These yellow flowers are so light and delicate... Most of them were
completely destroyed by snow (just look at the next image). You know
they reminded me of my military service looong time ago. Soon after we,
young boys, were drafted and joined the army we learned a very important
rule... The rule of obedience, or, better said, the rule of
disobedience. 'Never rush to carry out an order given to you, it could
be cancelled at any time' our older mates taught us... And of course
they were right... delaying the execution of the orders saved us all a
lot of time and effort ;) Believe it or not, that was exactly what I
wanted to teach these trees last Saturday, when I walked around and
observed all the damage the snow had done to these beautiful flowers...
But those who waited for an even better opportunity got their chance to shine once the cold snow disappeared.
Sometimes you can see the craziest things if you look... really closely...
The lilac's buds are incredible. They are different and the most amazing thing is the flower buds hidden inside the leaves ;)
You know you can fish using these... if you are really desperate ;)
I have always been fascinated by juniper berries that look like
little gems. But I was even more surprised by them when I looked at them
through the macro lens. Aren't they amazing?
More and more buds are opening every day... More and more flowers
are opening up... This is the best time of the year to just wander
around with the camera and... take some pictures ;)
Pictures were taken on March 30, 2024.
