Staying in A Frame Club was nice and cozy. The cabin was warm and quiet, we had a good breakfast and really didn't want to leave. But... we needed to... so at some point we checked out (contactless again) and were back on the road. But before heading back, we decided to look around and went to see the town of Granby...
The day before we passed by without stopping or walking but on
Monday we had some time and wanted to explore the place. And at first we
discovered that there are many beautiful murals on the walls, some of
them overlooked the main street, but most are shy and hiding on side
walls ;)
"If You're Lucky Enough To Be In Grand County... You're Lucky
Enough!" Doesn't that sound nice? We walked around Trail Riders Motel,
looked in the windows before heading down the street...
What a view! The mountains behind were gorgeous and the sky looked incredible that day...
We crossed the street to have a better look at the mountain range
in the distance, and stood there for a few minutes, unable to leave. The
clouds were absolutely indescribable... they looked like someone
smudged them with his finger, just to see what it would look like ;)
We spent some more time in Granby, shopped for some Christmas gifts
here and there and had a really hard time getting into the car and
driving back to Denver...
And while on the road, we stopped all the time and tried to get
enough of the views... The mountains, sky and clouds made us dizzy and
feel
unreal. But, I guess, it was a good feeling, what do you think?
We made a couple more stops on our way back - we had lunch in Fraser and stopped to buy some local jam in Winter park...
And... honestly... I like how Peezie Marie approached the problem
of boring husbands... By placing a Husband's Waiting Table just outside
an entrance ;) Although I would add a couple of sports magazines ;)
This was our last stop, and at this point we really needed to hit the road if we wanted to get through Berthoud Pass before darkness. But... it was a nice and memorable escape from Denver. Just for two days... but it's worth it!
