About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Deep in the Woods: A Summer Escape...
What could be more invigorating than a mountain retreat to escape the
relentless summer heat? Well, I'll tell you - venturing into the woods
with a camera in hand! That's precisely what I did last Saturday, as the
mercury climbed relentlessly, attempting to beat the early morning
chill. Stepping out of the car, my day was instantly graced by the
delightful presence of a hummingbird - a truly blissful beginning to my
mountain sojourn.
With the company of this beautiful bird, I ventured further into the
woods, discovering a plethora of captivating sights to capture through
my lens. Each photograph became a precious memento to cherish during the
long, cold winter evenings that await.
It's astounding how seamlessly the fungi I encountered blended with the
tree bark, as if they were one and the same—an enchanting interplay of
nature's artistry.
The early morning dew adorned the leaves of plants, adding a glistening touch to the woodland scenery.
Among the many fascinating finds, I was particularly drawn to the Old
Man's Beard growing on the trees. Usnea, a genus of mostly pale
grayish-green fruticose lichens, presented itself like leafless
mini-shrubs or tassels anchored gracefully on bark or twigs.
As I strolled along, a gentle stream meandered between the trees,
breathing life into its surroundings. The area surrounding the water
exuded freshness, lushness, and an explosion of vibrant colors - a
picturesque sight to behold.
Amidst the natural wonders, I couldn't help but spot something
amusing - an intricate formation that could easily pass for a
nature-inspired wig! Oh, the delightful surprises nature has in store
for us!
My leisurely walk through the woods became a joyful expedition of
discovery, where every corner held something interesting to marvel at.
The captivating combination of birds, flowers, lichen, and beard moss (another
nickname for usnea) truly made my day. Time seemed to pass too quickly,
and as much as I longed to linger, I knew I had to return to Denver,
where the heat awaited. But oh, how my heart yearned to be back among
the trees, already dreaming of my next woodland adventure next week.
Nature's embrace in the woods provided a temporary escape from the
sweltering temperatures, offering a tranquil haven where beauty and
serenity reigned supreme. The experience left me with a treasure trove
of images and memories to cherish, a balm for the soul during the
summer's relentless scorch.
So, as the heat continues to embrace us, let's savor the memories of our
woodland sojourn. Let these captured moments transport us back to the
cool embrace of the woods, where nature's wonders never fail to enchant
us, regardless of the season.
