About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Buena Vista. Independence Day 2019 trip, part 2

Back on the road and soon we had another stop. We've been to Buena Vista a few times before (look here if you don't believe me - Independence Pass and Buena Vista) and love to stop by. Just stretch our legs and walk back and forth...

Buena Vista lies between Leadville and Salida, in the middle of the Banana Belt, the valley tucked away between the highest peaks with remarkably mild winters. Roughly 2200 people live there at an elevation of 7,965 feet.

Buena Vista  was incorporated in 1879 and grew as a railroad town serving the local silver, gold, and lead mining industry, with three rail lines including the Denver & Rio Grande, South Park & Pacific, and Colorado Midland railroads. Many of the existing buildings of Buena Vista date back to this era, and were built in the 1880s and 1890s. But... times were changing and railroads slowed down and finally closed their operation and the town fell asleep.

Now it is a very nice small, old-fashioned town, where the time runs slower than around. We love  the Main street of the town, especially the little coffee shop we discovered ages ago - The Buena Vista Roastery. Here you can always find a perfect cup of freshly roasted coffee.

So we settled on their signature coffee and added their famous breakfast burritos... Believe it or not, it was a great lunch and just in time :)

To be continued...

Pictures were taken on July 04, 2019.
