About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Rodeo - the beginning - Cheyenne Frontier Days - Part 2

We left the Indian village after the dancing stopped (click here to see - Dance, dance, dance... - Cheyenne Frontier Days) and moved closer to the arena, where we planned to watch the rodeo. The rodeo is held every day at 12:45PM during the 10 days of the Cheyenne Frontier Days.

But before you can find a seat, you have to walk along a long line of stalls where the vendors offer everything... It's just like a regular fair, just bigger. Also you can enroll for the Marines if the colorful advertising attracts you.

Or you can join Colorado Air Force Academy (although I have no idea why they showed a bike and not a plane).

Finally we passed all the attractions, got some cold drinks and found a place in the bleachers. Our seats weren't very good but we had a great view of the entire arena and we didn't expect to find it that big...

The girls in green were the first to enter the arena, galloping in circles with sponsor's flags...

And some horses didn't cooperate and even tried to get rid of the riders (fortunately, unsuccessful).

Then, a group of the Miss-of-previous-Rodeo flew through the arena at great speed. Wow... they were really fast!

Cowboys, Indians, wagons... It took a while for all participants to parade in front of the spectators.

And the real highlight of the parade were the real cowgirls in pink ;)

In the end, brave men in red replaced the girls and they didn't leave the arena during the rodeo. They did all the men's jobs during the entertainment - catching broncos and bulls that got loose, helping cowboys to get back on their feet, and so on... The rodeo was about to begin...

To be continued...

Pictures were taken on July 25, 2010.
