Colorado is a very sunny state. The sun is shining in the sky 300
days a year. And we have a bright blue sky even more days every year.
I'd say we never had an opportunity to see many places not under deep
sky and bright sunny light. But sometimes...
Yes, sometimes we are lucky to see the places when the sky is dark and the weather is not... mmm... sunny ;) Even though it was raining on and off all day, we were lucky enough to hike in Rifle Falls park between the rains and enjoy the waterfalls. And the rain accompanied us later, when we drove down I-70 to Grand Junction and then Colorado National Monument. And it was pouring when we entered the park. We thought we would not be able to get out of the car and look around but still decided to drive and look out the windows. But at some point the rain just stopped. I mean it - and if you live in Colorado, you know what I mean - one second it was pouring badly and another second the sun broke through the clouds and the rainfall just stopped. So we also stopped and stepped out of the car to look at the canyons and rainbows...
Colorado National Monument is a great place to be at any moment.
Sun or rain or snow... but I think it looks especially cool on a day
like that - when the heavy rain and sun are fighting and you can only
guess which one takes over and wins...
