About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Buena Vista, South Main district

Buena Vista is a nice town in the middle of the banana belt in Colorado. About 2 hours from Denver and sitting in the valley surrounded by mountains, trails and peaks. But not only mountains attract people to come here. The Arkansas River runs along the city and gives you some coolness during the hot Summer days. You can walk along the river in the park, hike dozens of different trails or you can enjoy whitewater rafting. They say the best whitewater rafting in Colorado is here, in Buena Vista.

The Arkansas River doesn't look really big here at headwaters, but later it'll cross Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas and finally will connect with the Mississippi River (actually it's the biggest tributary of the Mississippi River). But it happens many miles away but here. In Buena Vista, it is a small, but strong stream. You cannot boat here, but you can look at the running water, hike along the river or raft when the weather permits.

Just over a dozen years ago two investors, Jeb Selby and Katie Selby Urban, bought some land along the river and started to build a neighborhood there. Now you can find a lot of nice houses and townhomes there. And also you can find some cozy restaurants, galleries and stories. Cool place to live. Quiet and nice, close to all kinds of activities and to Buena Vista downtown, and not so far from Denver.

Take a look at this nice district. I know, the weather in November is not the best to admire the view, but even in this weather it looks nice, doesn't it?
