The snow is blowing outside (it's expected in January, right?)... And I am craving traveling through time to visit some warmer and nicer time of the year. Wanna join me? Let's land somewhere in September, when the weather is nice and mild and the Colorado colors are bright as they can be...
In fact, the days were much shorter compared to the Summer and the
nights were really chilly. The leaves turned yellow so fast you can
literally see the change with your naked eyes... Green leaves in the
morning, yellow-ish by lunch and bright yellow after dinner. We like to
call it Golden Fall because of the colors... Just look at Georgetown, isn't it beatuful?
Just a week before, the aspen groves were more green-ish, with some
yellow but that weekend everything mostly turned yellow and I could
call this time the best for watching Colorado colors... We started from
Georgetown and drove up towards Guanella Pass, but stopped just above
the town first and looked down...
The slopes looked like a gold mine - mostly overgrown with pines and green with some golden nuggets here and there...
In just a few miles earthy brown changed green and yellow - we
reached Guanella Pass. And some mountain peaks were already dusted with
the snow.
Here we turned and slowly drove back, stopping here and there to look for the colors of the Fall...
Pictures were taken on September 30, 2012.
