About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Breckenridge, Budweiser Snow Sculpture Festival 2018

Every January you can go to Breckenridge and... look at the snow. I mean packed snow... I mean carved snow... Budweiser Snow Sculpture Festival is an amazing event. The international crews create masterpieces from blocks of pressed snow. They spend almost a week carving them and they will melt in a week or two. And what wasn't melted would be destroyed to give space for cars to park (yes, a big parking lot is used for this exhibition).

Oh, no... this is not it (yet). Those are waiting for you along the creek banks and... they are not made from snow ;)

Usually there are two rows of the sculptures so the visitors can walk around and enjoy the art. Yes, I call it art even if you cannot save it and can display it only for a very short period of time...

As I mentioned before, teams from all over the World are coming here to create something. And... most of them do a great job of carving and polishing...

Mongolian team is usually good. I mean perfect. And this "Secret" sculpture is a good example of exquisite work, it's hard to believe it was carved from the snow!

"Catch and Release" - that's a job of a local team from Breckenridge.

Don't remember the teams and titles for all other works. And... really it doesn't matter, does it?

And if you go there and look at the sculptures, don't rush back home... Stay in Breckenridge for a few more hours... Walk along the streets and enjoy this nice and friendly town!

In 2020 we went to see the sculptures during the night time with all colorful lights and a completely different atmosphere - click here to see how it looked like Breckenridge Snow Sculptures Festival 2020.

Pictures were taken on January 28, 2019.
