About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Easter Service in Red Rocks Amphitheater

Don't really remember who told me about this event... We've been to Red Rocks before but always during the day time and I was tempted to see it at dawn... So I decided to go... I don't think you need much of the comments, but I am adding some details between the images but... you can skip them altogether. I guess the pictures will give you an idea how it looked like this early morning April the 4th, 2010...

So I woke up really early that day and drove up there in hope to see something interesting. But I wasn't prepared for what I really found here. First, the adventure started far before I got there - there was a huuuuge line of cars in the right line of I-6 just before turn to Morrison, and as I didn't expect them all so I passed by all of them and realized - those were the people who were going to the same place I was going. My luck - I missed the turn so I drove I-70 until the first opportunity to make an  U-turn and returned back there from the other direction and... the line was 10 times shorter so I was able to get there faster ;)

But the line of the car was slowly moving up to the Red Rocks Amphitheater and I finally dropped mine on the shoulder and walk/run about a mile to get there. It was the best and the fastest way to arrive before the sunrise... by the way... do you see the line of parked cars? They went back for miles...

The biggest surprise was seeing all these people waiting for the sun to rise and the service to begin. Once there, I realized most of them were waiting for hours... some overnight... It was amazing to see all these people sitting there and patiently waiting...

Finally the sun was rising (yeah, I was there just minutes before it happened, I was really lucky ;) )... the service began... and... just watch it!

I walked around, moving up and down in hope to capture the spirit of the event and... it was outstanding to see it, with all the people praying and glorifying Easter...

As I mentioned before, most of them spent hours waiting and some were sleeping there in their sleeping bags or covered with quilted blankets.

I don't remember how long it took for the Sun to rise and for the service to conclude... maybe an hour or so, but it was a beautiful hour... Actually for all of us, including an artist who was trying to capture the event. Don't you think I did it better? ;)

Pictures were taken on April 04, 2010.
