About this blog:

We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...

Mexico, vacation... Maroma Beach - the best beach on the coast! part 14

White sand and turquoise sea... bright sun and light breeze... what else one can dream of when enjoying the beach time? Nothing, I guess... And if the beach at the resort you are staying at is not good enough, you can always go and enjoy another one, can't you?

Maroma Beach is the best sand beach close to Playa del Carmen... At least they said so, but we didn't check Acumal beach (where one can swim with the turtles), so we can not be 100% sure this is true. Anyway, just 20 minutes of driving and the perfect beach is at your service :)

The sand is really thin, silky and white... The color of the water is just amazing... The sea is warm and pleasant to swim in and there weren't many waves, thanks to the wave breaking system they built. And the day was just perfect - cloudy, so not that bright... Amazing lazy time on the beach...

And if you are tired from laying down, swimming and reading books, there are some other activities available. You can go for camel safari, race the quadricycles, just walk along the beach (but don't forget the sunscreen - the sand is so white and not really hot, but reflects UV so good, you have a tan twice faster than you expected!). And... almost forgot - you can swim with the dolphins in a dolphinarium :)

Or just stay in the water and enjoy watching the palm trees along the beach, fishing boats in the small harbor, birds flying around and private El Dorado Overwater Bungalows.. the special area where one can stay out of the crowd and have everything without even leaving the room...
