About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Eagles View hike in Reynolds park

It was a chilly Saturday morning when I pulled to the parking lot and started walking. The Eagle View trail is steep the first mile and doesn't offer much of a view.

It was just a regular trail running up on the mountain slope and all you can see were trees. A lot of them...

Actually not, not just trees. You also can see the moon, huge and still bright. But to see it you need to look up ;)

The sun was shining through the trees and leaves and soon it became a bit warmer. Not as cold as when I just started. It was a nice change, by the way. Walking up to the top of the mountains when the temperature is below freezing point is not as pleasant as when it's above that...

Also the sun was warming up the forest. In the beginning it was a cold, gray-blue forest and now it was a nice brown-orange version of the same trees. Again, nice and very appreciated change!

After a couple of miles the trail exits the forest and for a while you can walk on the open space and really see around. First you have a better view at the canyon where you started...

And after another turn you finally can see the eagles' view of the mountain ridges... I really have not enough words to describe it and... also... why should I? Because a few pictures are definitely better than many words, don't you agree? ;)

Actually it was not very easy to leave the top of the mountain and walk down the trail. But... one cannot stay there forever, no matter how attractive and magical the views are...

On my way back I found the moon still visible up in the sky, even though it wasn't really early morning anymore ;)

Two and a half hours on the trail and about 5 miles was left behind. The slopes were a bit steeper than I would expect but not too bad. In fact the hike was relatively easy (and very pleasant). I guess I need to come back there one day in July, to escape the toasting heat of the city and enjoy bird's view at the hazy mountains far away...
