About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Mexico, vacation, sun, sand and palm trees, part 1

Winter of 2018 wasn't really cold and exhausting, but it was long (as usual) and it was still a winter. And it is always nice to escape the cold weather and enjoy some bright sun, blue sky and turquoise sea, isn't it? Just relax and forget about everything, leaving all troubles somewhere else for a while...

The Idea of escape was very appealing, but we didn't want to fly across half of the World and be exhausted after this flight... so Mexico looked like the best choice ever. Caribbean coast of Yucatan peninsula, nice climate, warm ocean and always Summer, what else can you dream of, huh? :). So one early Thursday morning we met a sunrise at the DIA and boarded the plane on our way away from March in Denver.

After just 4 hours in the air, we landed in Cancun, which wasn't our final destination point. Everything was different there - humid air, green plants all around and heat... not really heat, just around 80F, but still much hotter than Denver those days.
We discovered our luggage and ran to the Alamo office to get our car. Yeah... it would be much easier to get a shuttle and not have any hustle with renting the car, but we can't resist having some freedom and to be able to move around just because we wanted to, without any schedule or dependency. That was a busy time for the rental company, but soon enough we were driving along a highway through the jungle to find our destination - Sandos Caracol Eco Resort next to Playa del Carmen town.

We will talk about this resort a lot, I believe this is a pretty unusual place (or at least we found it this way), but later. Not at this moment...
After about an hour of driving we got there, dropped our bags in the room, grabbed a cup of coffee and went to explore the surroundings... We wanted to see the sea and even to start sunbathing (not really our thing, but how can we didn't?).

Don't be surprised... there will be a lot of palm trees, flowers and animals in the pictures. As well as blue sky and turquoise sea. So hard to resist catching all of these again and again. But now I just would like to start with our first impression of this amazing place and I hope you enjoy it (in pictures) as much as we did (in person).

Everything looks different at night... The colors are not the same and the shadows... oh these huge shadows, they change everything!

Please, don't be surprised to see tables with souvenirs here. It is still a resort even if it looks more like a fairground at night time. So many people never left the resort, so every other day the market came to them, offering everything they could wish to buy and bring back home. Pretty convenient, isn't it?
