About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

South Valley Park hike

Another Saturday and another new park to explore. Thanks to my friend who brought to my attention this amazing place to roam. It is not really easy to find a place like that and surprisingly this is a free park, located at foothills, literally at the outskirts of Denver.

Am I the only one who sees the sleeping dog in this picture? :)

This place is not far away from Roxborough park and features the same Morrison formation and... these two parks look pretty much alike. Only South Valley Park is a bit closer to where the most people leave... so you choose ;)

The trail is well maintained and easy. It is running up and down, but not steep or rocky. The loop hike is close to 3 miles and it's a pleasure walking there and looking around.

Lyons Back Trail is a short side trail and this one is a bit more challenging. Narrow and rocky it climbs up but provides amazing panoramic views at the valley.

In fact the views across the valley are good from any point of the trail and... it's great place to spend a couple of hours, the only downside of this park is the trail is barely covered by shadows and can be toasty during Summer months. By the way, the office building in the middle is Lockheed Martin's office. Now I want to work here and have a chance to look from the window when I need some distraction ;)

Feels like you are in Utah, huh? Archers park, Denver's branch ;) In fact all the park looks like a small Utah and makes me dream of driving there and seeing the endless red rocks...

Wouldn't it be great to live there? High above the road and between these gorgeous cliffs. It made me envious...
