Some people like small and friendly towns and some like big and busy cities. And Denver is the place to satisfy all of them. If you like Chicago and New York - stay in downtown and don't leave unless you need to. If you enjoy small and quiet towns - avoid going downtown and stay in residential areas.
But... all of us need to go downtown from time to time and it's not
always a pleasant experience. Too much traffic and too much noise...
Skyscrapers suppress and trample you... You feel small and weak
surrounded by all these buildings. I guess Denver residents can be
placed into two groups - people who love being there and people who try
to avoid it by all means.
I think I am somewhere in the middle. I try not to go here unless it is necessary, but once I am here, I enjoy walking between these monsters. It's really impressive to see all these glass and concrete (mostly glass though) buildings and feel so small and even unhappy. Right, I am not a fan of being here... but... like taking pictures ;)
And... let's just have a walk and look up. And when I say up, I mean UP, straight up ;)
