About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Beach, Old Mission and the nice neighborhood. Hawaii, part 16

To read previous part Ocean trip to the north coast of Kauai. Hawaii, part 15

We woke up next morning and understood that we were tired. Waimea Canyon and the boat trip were a bit too much for one day, actually. But we cannot even imagine sitting still and not going to see anything ;) But we decided we should be taking it easy... So we started from exploring the beaches  on the East coast.

And... you know... this is interesting... if you look to the left, the perfect weather and bright blue sky make you feel like you are about to sunbath... But it changes when you look to the right. The sky is darker and cloudy, not exactly stormy, but makes you feel a bit concerned. This is quite normal for Kauai, actually. Get used to it!

Our next stop was to look at the Old Mission (1834) and walk around the perfectly kept lawn. And... oh those coconut trees... They are absolutely incredible, aren't they?

Driving to the north, we just stopped on the shoulder and stayed there for a few minutes admiring the view across a small bay to the mountain ridges.

So moving slowly we reached the town of Princeville. Resorts and golf clubs are really common on Kauai. They are everywhere. But it is a bit different around Princeville. This small town is the finest place to stay and play golf. Or swim. Or just enjoy your vacation.

The streets in this neighborhood are wider, the lawns are groomed better and everything looks up to date. But.. you know... I wouldn't like staying there. It's a bit too much, too nice, too refined. But it's definitely worth driving through before returning back to slightly worn towns and resorts. But feel free to disagree and book a place here next time when you are going to spend a couple of weeks on Kauai ;)

Pictures were taken on April 28, 2013.

  1. Michael, Though I'll likely never get to Hawaii myself, thanks to your pictures, I feel like I'm there!
