About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

July hike, Central City

That was another toasty July day in Denver and I just needed to escape somewhere. It didn't really matter where as long as the air would be cooler and fresher. So I drove all the way up to Black Hawk and turned to Central City. But walking in the town wasn't in my plans, I wanted to be alone. And I just passed the town and dropped the car next to the cemetery gates. Got my camera and some water and started hiking up to the hill, hoping to find something interesting once I climb to the top.

And I wasn't disappointed. The views were incredible. I was staying on the top and able to see endless mountain's ridges and peaks...

Once I decided to return back and started to hike down, I met unexpected creatures - small flock of blue damselflies. Actually, why unexpected? Because it was dry there and they prefer to live close to the water? Probably I just didn't find a small pond or big puddle but it really didn't matter. I just enjoy some time watching them flying around and sitting on the plants here and there.

Being closer to the spot I left my car, I stopped to look at the old forgotten mine. Not much survived the decades of being abandoned, but some construction is still here and the tailing was bright and tall.

It was a short but refreshing hike and I felt much better than a couple hours before. I was ready to return back to the city even though my soul wanted to stay in the mountains forever...

Pictures were taken at July 18, 2020.
