About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Touch not me...

Read first part Knock on wood, it's Halloween

Once the parade exhausted itself, the spectators stopped moving around in anticipation...

The heavy silence filled the air...

The dancing nun quickly hopped to the finish line to cheer her friends. The wind wasn't blowing and even the birds stopped chirping and were looking to the race track...

And the race began. Two teams were running, pushing the coffins along the street. They were closer... closer... closer... it felt like a few more seconds and they crashed into the crowd.

Surely this was impossible that all 60 teams raced at the same time. So only two of them were on the street fighting each other. And two of the best would have their prize - one more race to figure out the best coffin racers of the year. And... believe it or not, the winners were the blue boys that started the first race.

And every team competed differently. Some showed the real sport characters and just ran off to the finish line, without looking back. Some showed off, making faces and giving kinda show to the viewers. Every run was special and it was real fun to see them.

In fact, that was a great show to see. The teams were working hard, the crowd was cheering and whistling. And everyone had a good time, the regular people and vampires.

But the last two teams crossed the line... The best runners run again to find the winned and... the street transformed into the street again...

The characters of the Wizard of Oz danced and smiled... The blue boys got a piece of the cemetery as a prize...

Some liked to have a picture for the family album and asked the teams to be a nice background...

The police gave the all clear and the crowd dissolved into the side streets and shops. Vampire hissed while being driven away in the white car... The evil spirits were disappearing from the streets of Manitou Springs for another year...

Bonus :-) As there were more interesting moments during the race and many funny and nice faces here and there... Let's throw a few more pictures here.

Pictures were taken October 30, 2010 года.
