About this blog:
We love traveling. We always capture tons of pictures from wherever we've been and we like sharing our traveling experiences with our friends. So, this is how this blog began - as short stories with pictures in an attempt to share where we've been and what we've seen. Even not stories , but just notes. Nothing serious and big. Mostly I'm writing these stories on a rush and sometimes even don't have time to re-read them. So, I apologize in advance for possible typos here and there. There can be some factual errors or inaccuracies and they even might be corrected one day. Don't hesitate to contact me if you find something that needs to be fixed and don't expect these notes to be a perfect novels ;) The stories in this blog are not in chronological order, but I will try to remember to put the date of the trip. So... welcome to this blog and, hopefully, you will find something interesting and have the same feeling we had when we were there. Let's go...
And... by the way... all pictures and texts in this blog are protected by International and USA Copyright laws, so if you'd like to repost or use something on your page - contact me first.
Using anything published here without permission is violation of the law and... it isn't really nice...

Colorado colors - Kenosha and Boreas Passes, Breckenridge - Sept 2016

Our planet is quite old... A few billions years old... And all this time it is spinning around the sun and the same cycle repeats every year - Winter is starting the year, followed by Spring, that Summer and finally the Fall time is taking over the Summer. And every Fall we can go outside and enjoy the huge change in scenery, when the leaves turn yellow and red before the wind blows them away for the Winter.

It happens every year and never the same way. Sometimes this magic period is short, like a blink and sometimes it is long and pleasant. But it is always an enjoyment leaving a big and noisy city and going to the mountains to relish amazing views of the slopes that turned into wild colorful pictures.
One of the most popular places to watch for Fall colors in Colorado is Kenosha Pass, the summit  on I-285 not too far from Denver. And every year color watching attracts thousands of people (so you can see hundreds of cars parked along the road).

Sure it is the easiest way to spend a sunny Sunday - go to Kenosha pass, hike there and come back home. But... you always can make some improvements even to the best plan, can't you? So that is why instead of returning back home we continued on I-285 and after a while we made a right turn on county road 404. And once we were off the interstate we just stopped to walk around the small town of Cobo.

It didn't take long and soon we've been back on the road admiring stunning landscapes and colors. We crossed the mountains at Boreas Pass and... you know... that was cold there on this warm Fall day. Freezing cold and we were surprised to learn the snow was already covering the ground and the roof of the old cabin there.

But everything changed once we moved a couple thousand feet below the summit level and continued on the road, making stops to enjoy bright yellow aspen leaves and sun beams...

One spot there just made us jealous... These four guys definitely had a great time lying down in the hammocks and soaking in the sun ;) And they had quite a view, I should say...

Soon enough the road brought us to Breckenridge, another place that attracts people all year round...

We left the car and spent a couple of hours without any clear goal, just roaming around.

Finally we decided we needed to return home, but before doing this we drove up to the viewpoint to take a look at the town from birds eye...

And... pictures are good to show the colors and sceneries... but video can do a bit more... so here is one and you can see all the same places but with some added dynamics and a better feeling of why thousands of people are going out to see the Fall colors.

Pictures were taken on September 25, 2016.
